Benefits of joining GAGC include:

  • 2 for 1: Full Membership in GAGC and the Utah Association for Gifted Children (UAGC)

  • A network for information on gifted education and gifted children, educational options in Granite District, and talent development programs

What resources can I investigate about gifted children?

There are so many resources for parents and educators. Find out what books and links can inform your educational and parenting decisions concerning your gifted child.

You can join the GAGCUtah discussion board (or send a blank e-mail to GAGCUtah-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) and the Utah Association for Gifted Children announcement board. UTAH_GIFTED, founded by Peggy Allred, a SENG parent from Murray, UT, is a great parent-to-parent resource in the form of a Yahoo! Group.

How can I become more involved in gifted education in Granite School District?

You can become more involved in gifted education in Granite School District by volunteering to become a Parent Liaison for your child's school. Each elementary and junior high school principal in Granite District has been asked to designate a Parent Liaison for Gifted/Talented Programs. This parent attends monthly meetings at the District Office. Read more here about what the Parent Liaisons do.

Also, you can come to GAGC meetings (schedule forthcoming) and volunteer to be a board memberor donate your time to special projects.

Whom can I contact for more information about GAGC?

Michelle Murphey is our President. You can contact her at michellem@utahparentcenter.org. Find out more about the GAGC Board.
